EXPO REAL 2018 – Rent Act
I believe that the coalition parties were right when they said that the cap on rents is highly controversial as far as its effectiveness is concerned, because a lot of experts are saying that itdoesn’t work at all.
The coalition parties were right to evaluate and review the cap on rents. But instead of reviewing it, a decision has now been reached to make it stricter – and we consider that totally counter-productive, because it doesn’t result in a single new apartment and it unsettlesinvestors. To be honest, it’s also worrying the tenants themselves. What tenants need is moreapartments, rather than this kind of deficiency management. So we have to move away from that, and there has to be more new construction.
